Plan for a chilly Saturday afternoon, with lighter winds but still below-average temperatures near 40. Expect more cloud cover in the evening, with temperatures down to freezing outside of the Capital Beltway and middle 30s in D.C.
Expect overcast skies and dry conditions through lunchtime, then light showers for the rest of Sunday. A brief wintry mix is possible for areas along and west of the Blue Ridge, which may lead to light ice accumulations. Rain totals in the D.C. area are expected to be around a quarter-inch.
A warm front returns with higher temperatures and more moisture on Monday, which will allow for a soggy day with on and off rain across the D.C. area. Rain totals are expected to be around half an inch.
Tuesday begins warm in the 50s and 60s, a cold front moves in during the afternoon with falling temperatures and a wind direction shift out of the northwest. Rain should come to an end by sunset.
